Am I the only one who is irritated by the cliche: "When you eat ham and eggs, you know the chicken made a contribution, but the pig made a real commitment."
The hen did not contribute; she laid eggs; because, that is what hens do. The pig did not commit. It was slaughtered and butchered!
Or maybe I'm too literal minded?
